The creak in the floor turned a moment's pause from a stuttering fool into his last memory of his toe. Even the stray alley cat wandering through his shack was on my side, it seemed. The trigger grew intimate with my clenched fist in that moment, and Jacob discovered just how life can change in the blink of an eye. He left bloody footprints while he staggered backward. I tucked the forty-five into the back of my blue jeans, and locked the blade of my folder open with switchblade precision in a delicate and quick flip of the wrist. I approached him like a wild cat pouncing on it's unwilling dinner guest, and lay my hand on his chest while whispering "Devil, be gone." He fell backward onto the floor, and my foot replaced my hand on his sternum. The light of the moon shone through the cracked window. It gave view to a rotting ceiling full of barren rafters, and the decaying walls of a home that had become a house even before Jacob took residence at it's address. The Damascus blade acquainted itself with the five o'clock shadow on the bastards face.
Please, Mister... take my money, take anything you want!" Jacob stammered
The passion left my face momentarily, and I made the decision to inform the coward of how the world works for him. "I was never good with introductions, Jake, but I'll fill you in on a little secret. I've been the shadow in the closet after you turn the lights out at night. After you've tied her to your bed, after she's stopped crying from your presence in her. I am the teardrops on her pillow every night. I am Robert Raff. I am the only man you'll ever need to remember, because we're going to get to know each other very well under the cold, heartless moonlight."
Leaning forward, I put my hand on his forehead, and brought a small glass of a "mystery drink" to the lips of my Friday night date. I emptied the contents into his mouth and brought my foot to his jaw while pinching his nostrils closed. He swallowed reluctantly.
The edge of the blade drew blood as it traced a line from Jacob's ear to his lip. The cold December air aided the infliction of pain. The sting was well pronounced, evident by the girlish tone of his scream. A grin came across my face, "I must admit", I murmured aloud, "this is the most fun I've had in months. "
His eyes focused on me, instead of the knife, and he began to stammer some plea for mercy, and a single snowflake drifted in through the broken window and landed on the bridge of his nose between his eyes. The blade of my knife darted towards it, and a line was drawn between his eyebrows. Blood slowly seeped from the light wound, and the snowflake absorbed it and melted into it. I finished his body art by making an incision vertically on his nose that crossed the bridge between his eyebrows. I leaned forward and whispered in his ear "There's no hope for you now. the sodium oxidate in the glass of water you just drank has been working it's way into your veins for the last few minutes will prevent you from resisting."

People always ask me, "Are you a lover or a fighter?"
I answer "both" because I fight for love.
